Beloit Art Center is pleased to announce the August exhibits which will open with a First Friday Gallery Reception on August 4th from 5-7pm. A gallery talk featuring the artists will be held at 6 pm. Both exhibits will be open through August 27th. In the Sveum Gallery, we welcome Greg La Mont. Greg has been fascinated with art and artwork since he was young, always experimenting with wall art, illustrations, mechanical drawings, and caricatures for the high school name book, to name a few. Intrigued by creating in many different genres, he continued to build on his knowledge bank. A self-taught artist, he brings an eclectic mix to his body of work. “I enjoy visualizing and creating my work in varying mediums.” In the Bell Gallery, we are pleased to feature Kendra Kett. Kendra’s art is a collection of mixed media artworks about the power of healing and recovery after loss, betrayal, abuse, and grief. Using abstraction and color theory Kendra’s art attempts to visually communicate that sadness can be overcome and that healing is available to us every day.
