Exhibit and workshop opportunities for non-professional artists.
The Wisconsin Regional Art Program (WRAP) encourages nonprofessional, student, and emerging artists to create and exhibit their work across Wisconsin. It is for people who have a serious interest in art, and create art for the love of art. WRAP originated as an outreach program of UW-Madison, but is now administered by the Association of Wisconsin Artists. Participants living in neighboring states are also encouraged to participate.
CREATE
Make art! WRAP encourages artists at all levels to practice their craft. WRAP educational workshop presentations and critique sessions will inspire you to develop your abilities and grow as an artist.
SHARE
Show your work! Award winners from these local exhibits will have their work shown at the annual State Exhibit and are eligible for monetary awards.
CONNECT
Attend your local WRAP workshop, or register for the annual State Conference Weekend. Be inspired by our incredible speakers, meet other artists, and gain invaluable encouragement and feedback from the critiques.

BELOIT WRAP 2024 - JUROR
Helen Klebesadel Bio:
Helen Klebesadel earned an MFA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She is best known for her environmental and women centered subjects addressed in watercolors on paper and canvas. Her paintings push the traditional boundaries of the medium in scale, content, and technique. She starts with detailed drawings and developing the images with layer upon layer of color washes and dry brush technique mixed with occasional areas of wet-into-wet spontaneity.
The Bergstrom-Mahler Museum presented her first solo museum exhibition in 1994. Her paintings have been exhibited in several American Embassies abroad. Her paintings are now in numerous public, private, university, hospital, and museum collections, including the permanent collections of the Museum of Wisconsin Art and The Racine Art Museum. The Copelouzos Family Art Museum in Athens, Greece acquired her work in 2020.
Her 30+ year art and academic career included a decade teaching art and chairing the Art Department at Lawrence University followed by eighteen years directing the system-wide Women’s and Gender Studies Consortium for UW-System and UW-Madison. She also served as director of the Wisconsin Regional Art Program (WRAP) for UW-Madison Continuing Studies from 2013-2016. Klebesadel is a past national president of the national Women’s Caucus for Art (1994-96) and served as a member of the Madison City Arts Commission from 2003-2006 and the Wisconsin Arts Board from 2006-2013. In 2021 she was the recipient of the national Women’s Caucus for Art International Caucus’s United Nations Program Honor Roll recognition, an award designed to recognize important artist/activists who have made significant contributions to the field. In 2023 Klebesadel was named as one of 50 Wisconsin Artists for 50 Years recognized by the Wisconsin Arts Board in celebration of the organization's 50th Anniversary. Her creative work has been documented in books and exhibition catalogues, including the 2022 book from the Cedarburg Art Museum, A Creative Place: The History of Wisconsin Art.
In September 2024 her art can be seen as a part of the ‘Landscape’ exhibition and the Carnelian Gallery in Madison, Wisconsin. Helen is represented by Wisconsin-based virtual art gallery Artful Home.
