We are happy to announce another BFAI event. Author Lynn Skinner will be present from 4 pm to 6 pm to talk about her book and sign a copy for you. The book "Happy Birthday Dolly" begins another series and has been illustrated by well known local artist, Ingrid Dohm. Dohm whose work has been exhibited here at the BFAI gallery also will be present at the signing to discuss her illustrations. Lynn C Skinner, author of books for children, spent her formative years in Georgia but as an adult, she lived in Beloit and surrounding area for many years. About ten years ago, she began writing a series of character building books concerning Eugene, the mouse. After five books in the series about Eugene building a go-kart and then using his new machine for adventure, Mrs. Skinner has begun a new series, Sharing Happiness. For this series, she has collaborated with the well known Rockford artist, Ingrid Dohm. As a native of Austria, Ingrid Dohm spent her youth finding lovely small wildflowers to paint. As an adult, she moved to the United States, married, raised three children, and finished her studies in Studio Art at Rockford College in Rockford, Illinois. She then began a long career in creating fine art and conducting painting workshops in Europe and the United States. She has also been the water- color instructor on cruise ships. This is her first collaboration on a book. ![]() Local artists are invited to participate in the exhibition and workshop of the Wisconsin Regional Art Program - Beloit.
