![]() During this 5 week class, local photographer Steve Bogdonas will help you learn how to take top quality photos with your digital camera. The class is designed for a beginner through intermediate photographer and will cover: Camera basics, classic light and color theory, portrait lighting and a heavy dose of classical design for the photographer. Assignments are given at every class along with class critiques and a mini-photo show at the 5th week of the program. With the surge of today's photo software there has not been a greater time to understand and practice the principles of design to enhance your photographic creations. Starting May 3rd, the class will meet for 5 consecutive Wednesday evenings from 6 to 8 pm at the Beloit Fine Arts Incubator (2nd Floor), 520 E. Grand Avenue, Beloit, WI. Watercolor Basics and Drawing Fundamentals Wednesdays 1:00-3:00 April 12th, 19th, 26th and May 3rd and 10th In this class: You will learn to see as an artist sees, which will enable you to grow in your drawing abilities. You will learn the beauty of water and color mixing on your paper to make vibrant colorful paintings. You will learn to make washes and other basic watercolor techniques. Whether you are a beginner or have been painting for years, you will enjoy growing and learning the boldness it takes to let watercolors sing! Instructor: Susan Swedlund (call 608-314-4092) Registration fee: $100.00 ($60.00 + $40.00 supply fee) The supply fee includes the use of paper, professional grade watercolor paints, palettes, and other painting supplies during class. Each student will be given a small sketchbook. Open studio starts back up April 10th, 2017 Classes are held Monday and Thursday evenings 6-8:00. You attend according to your own schedule. Your first eight sessions are $137.00 and include 25 lbs. of clay and glazes to cover the projects done during these sessions. You will learn the fundamentals of clay, hand building techniques and three guided sessions on the pottery wheel. After the class you may attend any open studio for $10.00 an evening (this includes the firing of all the pieces that you make during this time) and you may want to join the glaze co-op for $12.00 or purchase your own approved glazes. Bags of clay (25 lbs) are available to purchase for $18.00. 2 Session Pottery Workshops: $40.00 (includes clay, glaze, and the firing of your pieces) Scratching the Surface: Sgraffitto Technique Colorful Clay Underglaze Blocking Technique Call to schedule a workshop. Have you ever had the desire to try watercolor painting, but have not taken the first step? Now, is the time to take that step! This workshop will provide fundamental information about watercolor pigment, paper, brushes, and mixing to get you started on your painting path. The instructor will demonstrate numerous watercolor techniques over the course of the day, and will offer advice gathered from years of watercolor painting experience. In addition, there will be books and magazines available during the workshop to broaden your horizons about the exciting world of watercolor. This will be an enjoyable and informal setting in which to learn the basics of watercolor painting.
