Beginning Watercolor and Drawing Wednesdays: October 19th, 26th, Nov. 2nd, 9th , 16th , 23rd ,30th, Dec.7th 10:00-12:00 am In this 8 week class we will explore the wonderful and versatile medium of watercolor. We will be learning how to lay a wash, layer colors, and other techniques useful in producing vibrant paintings. We will also be considering the importance of drawing and sketching techniques. Students will need a Multi-media sketchbook and a set of sketching pencils. All other supplies are included. We will be using the highest quality of paper and paints that are affordable to give each student the true watercolor experience. $125.00 per student (This class needs a minimum of 4 students in order to run) Pottery Wednesdays: October 19th, 26th, Nov. 2nd ,9th,16th,23rd ,30th, and Dec.7th 12:30-2:30 pm In this 8 week course we will discover the versatile world of clay. We will be hand building and working on the pottery wheel. All materials will be provided. Each student will have at least 4 finished pieces at the end of this course. An additional glazing session maybe needed and will be scheduled at the end of the session. Students will also learn firing techniques (how to run a kiln), various glazing techniques, and the stages of pottery production. $125.00 per student (This class needs a minimum of 3 students in order to run) Private Art Lessons Lessons will be scheduled according to the students individual needs and my availability. $20.00 per hour. To register call 608-314-4092 Instructor: Susan Swedlund Susan Swedlund has a BA in Art from Washburn University in Topeka ,KS and has had over 25 years experience in teaching art to young students. She worked in the Beloit School District for 10 years as a para-educator and substitute teacher. Two hallmark projects that she helped develop were Synetics Charter School, a project based learning academy, and the daVinci Room a creative learning environment to enhance exploration and to develop a “What if…” attitude. Swedlund is a professional Ceramic artist who has had a working studio at the Beloit Fine Arts Incubator for over four years. |
