Opening Reception on Friday, September 1st, 2017 - 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Show will run from September 1 - 28, 2017. The Beloit Fine Arts Incubator is pleased to announce their September show will feature the works of Wisconsin natives Kathleen and Tony D’Angelo. The show is centered around their creative vision evoked by their travels through Italy. Kathleen creates works of art with watercolor, acrylic, pastel, pen and graphite. As she explains, “Light and the absence of light has always fascinated me. The interplay between light and dark provides an endless source of inspiration and stimulation. Patterns are created, sometimes in poetic symmetry and other times in chaotic abandon. Brilliant hues meet, mix, and separate as light bounces and leaps from surface to surface, forming mysterious pockets of shadow.” Tony expresses himself by creating wood mosaics, collages and paintings. “Much of my work is influenced by the tools I use and the procedures that I invent or incorporate into each piece.” This leads to the hard lines and geometric designs with color, texture, shapes and contrast to ascertain feelings of depth, motion, rhythm and balance. Join us September 1st from 5 to 8 pm as we open this exciting exhibit to the public. The event is free and open to the public. Both artists will be on hand to meet the public and discuss their works. The show will continue through September 28th. The Beloit Fine Arts Incubator is located at 520 E. Grand Avenue in downtown Beloit and is open Monday through Saturday. Comments are closed.
