Beloit Art Center announces September Gallery Exhibits

9/5/2024

Mary Ann Inman - Shine a Light on Ukraine
Mary Ann Inman - This too Shall Pass

Beloit Art Center is pleased to announce the September exhibits which will open with a First Friday Gallery Reception on September 6th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.  A gallery talk featuring the artists will be held at 6:00 p.m.  Both exhibits will be open through September 26th, 2024.
The Sveum Gallery presents “That was Then. This is Now”, a retrospective exhibit featuring Mary Ann Inman's artwork, which harnesses the artistic elements of line, color, value, shape, gradation, and texture to evoke emotional responses. With a background in realism, Mary Ann has evolved her style, embracing an abstract approach that incorporates imagination, texture, mark making, and contrast, as seen in her more recent mixed media pieces that combine acrylic, watercolor, markers, ink, collage, and crayon. Thank you to our Sveum Gallery sponsor, LifeCircle. Student pottery will also be on display in the Sveum Gallery.
Artwork by Valerie Cohs will be the featured artist in the Bell Gallery. Valerie Cohs, a passionate resin artist successfully blends earthiness and artistry to create stunning handcrafted pieces. She has prided herself in creating art that honors Earth’s beauty by including crystals, hand pressed flowers, a rich spectrum of colors, and abstract interpretations of the Earth's wonders. “My work serves as a gentle reminder to pause, breathe, and rediscover the magic intertwined with human existence.” Thank you to our Bell Gallery sponsor, I-43 Storage.

Call for Beloit Art Center Mural artists! This contest has been created to provide a space for artists to share their talents, show how positive collaboration can work, and to beautify a piece of our beloved city and the Beloit Art Center building. The goal is to make an unpainted concrete block stair tower a Beloit destination, which will positively impact the image and success of arts in the community. Applications are due November 16th. Please visit the Beloit Art Center website for more information.
Registration fortThe Wisconsin Regional Art Program (WRAP) is now open. Beloit WRAP has a two piece entry limit due to limited gallery space.
