Beloit Art Center is pleased to announce the May exhibits which will open with a First Friday Gallery Reception on May 2nd, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A gallery talk featuring the artists will be held at 6:00 p.m.
The artwork of Cindy Lesperance will be on display in the Sveum Gallery. Cindy is an award-winning Chicago based artist who works out of her private studio. Her art has been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the Chicagoland area and across the country, and has earned awards in many juried shows and competitions. Attuned to the colors, patterns, and textures of nature, these elements serve as the foundation of her art. “Over the years I have experimented with a variety of mediums, yet encaustic - a blend of beeswax, damar resin, and pigment - has become my primary focus.” Thank you to our May show sponsor, Senz Redieske Insurance, for their generous support of this exhibit and the youth in Beloit. The exhibit will be open through May 29th. The artwork of Abbey Beaumont will be on display in Bell Gallery. Currently living in Appleton, Wisconsin, Abbey draws inspiration from the joyful colors of comic books and the whimsical nature of folk art. For her first solo show, she has focused on works using oil pastels. Thank you to our May show sponsors, Joe and Dawn Stadelman, for their generous support of this exhibit. The exhibit will be open through May 29th. Looking for more art in the community? Be sure to stop by the Beloit Public Library to view featured art by Cindy Vondran.
