Beloit Art Center is pleased to announce the August exhibits which will open with a
First Friday Gallery Reception on August 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. A gallery talk featuring the
artists will be held at 6 pm. Both exhibits will be open through August 27, 2026.
Artwork by Tim Griffith will be on display in the Sveum and Bell Galleries. Griffith's
artistic expression encompasses a rich tapestry of art history. His creations seamlessly
blend elements from various styles, reflecting his belief in the evolution of art and the
enduring relevance of past aesthetics. Marc Anderson's Solo Pottery Exhibit will also be
featured in the gallery this month.
Ellen Malsch's artwork will be displayed in the community gallery. She works in
watercolor, oil, acrylic and mixed media. She believed that art should encourage curiosity
once saying, "Art must extend a person's mind and vision beyond what he already knows."
Also featured at Beloit Art Center this month are the award-winning artworks from
the Beloit & Vicinity Exhibition at The Wright Museum of Art at Beloit College. These
works include art by John Duffy, Jade Pergl and Tim Griffith.

Call for Artists! Entries for Beloit WRAP are now being accepted through
September 24, 2026, for the October Exhibition at Beloit Art Center. The Wisconsin
Regional Art Program (WRAP) encourages non-professional students and emerging
artists to create and exhibit their work across Wisconsin. It is for people who have a
serious interest in art, and create art for the love of art. For more information and to

Water Mixable Oils with Lynette Redner. Love the look of oils but don’t like the
solvents? Like the look of watercolors but frustrated with not being able to fix them? This
class might be the answer! Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon on August 13, 20, and 27,
2026. All supplies are handled by the instructor and the cost to participate is $125.
Qigong for Fall Prevention in the Sveum Gallery on Mondays and Wednesdays
from 10 to 11 a.m. Qigong involves using exercises to optimize energy with the body,
mind, and spirit with the goal of improving and maintaining health and well-being. Cost to
participate is $75 for eight classes, or $15 drop-in.
Figure Drawing Open Studio on Monday August 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. If you have
never drawn from a live model before, this is your chance. Must be 21 to participate and
the $25 cost includes wine and charcuterie. Bring your own supplies.
Beloit Art Center is located at 520 E. Grand Ave. in downtown Beloit. The gallery is
free and open to the public. Gallery and gift shop hours are Monday 10 am – 2 pm,
Tuesday – Friday 10 am – 5 pm and Saturday 10 am – 2 pm.
