The Beloit Art Center is pleased to present the 17th Annual High Schools Art Exhibit. A First Friday Gallery Reception will be held on April 3 from 5 to 7 p.m. Students, parents, teachers, and administrators, as well as the public are encouraged to attend to see the collective talent of the young artists in Beloit. Participating schools are Beloit Turner, Beloit Memorial, and The Lincoln Academy. The exhibit highlights artwork ranging from painting, digital art, mixed media, pottery, sculpture, and stained glass. Several pieces will be selected to represent Beloit in the Association of Wisconsin Artists (AWA) Statewide Teen WRAP program. The work chosen will be exhibited and published at the Center for the Visual Arts in Wausau in September this year. Beginner Watercolor 101 Class will be held Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on April 2 and 9, 2026. This class is designed for complete beginners - no experience needed! We’ll start with the basics and learn about watercolor paints, brushes, and paper types. Experiment with fun extras like salt, alcohol, masking fluid, pen and ink, and watercolor pencils. The cost to participate is $85. Intro to Digital Photography II will be held Mondays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on April 27, May 18, and June 29. This course is for those with any type of digital camera who would like to improve their photography skills. After an initial review of exposure, we will explore light, work with both natural and artificial light, and learn to effectively use and control light in a scene. The cost to participate is $65 and participants should bring their own camera and camera manual. Photo Club meets the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. to discuss photography topics and techniques, and when the weather is good, they do a variety of shoots outdoors. Enthusiasts of all skill levels are welcome the cost is $85 annually or $10 drop-in. Looking to connect with other area artists? The Open Studio Art Group meets weekly on. Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. to work on projects and talk art. A studio leader is. available to help with tips and techniques. All mediums and skill levels are welcome. Drop-in enrollment is $7 per session. Gallery hours are Monday from 10am - 2pm; Tuesday - Friday from 10am - 5pm and Saturday from 10am - 2pm. The gallery is free and open to the public.
