October 29, 2023 - Beloit, Wisconsin – Beloit Art Center Announces November Exhibits and Classes BELOIT WISCONSIN REGIONAL ART PROGRAM | SVEUM GALLERY Beloit Art Center is excited to welcome thirty-two regional artists to the Main Gallery in November for the Beloit Wisconsin Regional Artists Program (WRAP) Exhibit. A First Friday Gallery Reception will be held November 3 from 5-7pm. A gallery talk will be held at 6pm. The reception is free and open to the public. WRAP originated in 1940 as an outreach program of UW-Madison and is now administered by the Association of Wisconsin Artists (AWA). WRAP encourages nonprofessional, student, and emerging artists to create and exhibit their work across Wisconsin. It is for people who have a serious interest in creating art. Each location coordinates a juror, who gives critiques and awards at the local workshops. These events also include an art demonstration or lecture. The top one third of artwork advances to the state exhibit, which will be held at the Pyle Center in Madison in August 2024. SHAIMAA SALEH | BELL GALLERY In the Bell Gallery, artwork by Shaimaa Saleh will be on display. Working with different mediums, from graphite to acrylic painting to printmaking, her chosen medium for her illustrations are watercolor, ink, and graphite on watercolor paper. Inspired by nature, marine life, botany, and landscapes are her favorite subjects to draw and paint. “Art has always been a hobby since childhood and in my adulthood it was a staple and a form of therapy”. With time her skills have evolved and she was accepted in Art school where she received her second BA degree in fine art and majored in illustration. The holidays are right around the corner and the Beloit Art Center has some workshops to help get you ready. On Saturday, November 11, there will be a Holiday Tree Workshop. Using crushed glass and resit students will create a 4x12 canvas which can be displayed on a table or hung on the wall. Then, on Saturday, December 2nd we will be offering an Upcycled Holiday Card class. With an assortment of used stamps the instructor will help you create two beautiful holiday cards to keep or send.
