Beloit Art Center is pleased to announce the October exhibits which will open with a First Friday Gallery Reception on October 2 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. A gallery talk featuring the artists will be held at 6:00 p.m. Both exhibits will be open through October 24, 2026.
Beloit Art Center is excited to welcome 93 pieces of art from 50 regional artists to the Sveum and Bell Galleries in October for the Beloit Wisconsin Regional Artists Program (WRAP) Exhibit. WRAP originated in 1940 as an outreach program of UW-Madison and is now administered by the Association of Wisconsin Artists (AWA). WRAP encourages nonprofessional, student, and emerging artists to create and exhibit their work across Wisconsin. It’s exciting to see so many new artists taking part in the Beloit WRAP
Program again this year. For the past two years, the Beloit Art Center has been recognized at the WRAP State Conference for bringing in the most new entries. We’re glad to help local artists discover and participate in this program through our partnership with the Association of Wisconsin Artists. Drawing for the Timid: An Art Class for Everyone (ages 12 to 80) will be held Tuesday evenings from 6 to 7:30 p.m. October 6, 13, 20, and 27. Gain confidence or just start drawing again. Participants will learn composition basics, the 7 rules of composition, material usage, and more. Cost is $125.
Free Drawing Lessons with Pete. Whether you’re picking up a pencil for the first time or looking to sharpen your drawing skills, join us each month for a free art lesson with Pete Stasukevich. Please bring your sketchbook, drawing pencils, and a kneaded eraser. Please register for this free class held on Thursday October 15 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and bring your own acrylic markers. Mixed-Media Art Journaling Workshop will be held Wednesdays from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on October 14 and 28, and November 11. Each session features a different visual journaling approach and/or combination of media. Bring your own Canson XL Mixed Media or Watercolor book (7x10 size is preferred). All other supplies provided by the instructor. Techniques include drawing, painting, stenciling, handlettering, and
more. Cost to participate is $115. Qigong for Fall Prevention in the Sveum Gallery on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 to 11 a.m. Qigong involves using exercises to optimize energy with the body, mind, and spirit with the goal of improving and maintaining health and well-being. Cost to participate is $10 drop-in through the end of October.
Open Studio Art Group every Thursday at 5:30 p.m. All mediums and skill sets are welcome.
Connect with other artists to work on projects and talk art. A studio leader is available to share tips and techniques. Drop in cost is $7.
Join the Photo Club Open Studio every fourth Wednesday at 6 p.m. All skill levels are welcome. The cost to participate is $85 annually, or $10 drop in.
Beloit Art Center is located at 520 E. Grand Ave. in downtown Beloit. The gallery is free and open to the public.
