Due to the July 4th holiday falling as it does, this exhibit will open the second Friday of July (July 8th). The featured artist, Carol Spitznagel was born in Beloit and has lived most of her life in Beloit. As a senior at Beloit Memorial High School, she received a scholarship to Columbus College of Art and Design. From there, she worked in marketing and advertising positions where her art training was put to good use. Today, Spitznagel uses her artistic talents to create paintings that show a joy of life. She is especially fond of portraying people in different aspects of their lives.
Opening night for this exhibit is July 8th from 5 to 8 pm. The event is free and open to the public. Spitznagel will be on hand to meet the public and discuss his art. The show will continue through July 29th. The Beloit Fine Arts Incubator is located at 520 E. Grand Avenue in downtown Beloit. The Gallery is open Monday from 10 to 2; Tuesday through Friday from 10 to 5:30 and on Saturday from 10 to 3:00.
